Terms and Conditions

  1. Appointments – All Counselling appointments are 60 minutes unless otherwise noted.  Sometimes the counsellor extends some appointments, and these will either have additional charge or may not include additional charge.  If there is additional charges, this would have been communicated to you before engagement of the session.
  2. Consent Form – The Consent form is required to be completed.  This information is critical for the counsellor to formulate and work with the best therapy model. 
  3. Honesty – Counsellors are reliant upon your honesty in forming best practice therapeutics for you.
  4. Changes in Circumstances – Please inform the counsellor of any life circumstance changes or major life events if these have taken place unexpectedly while working with the counsellor.  These may impact the direction of therapy for future sessions and a new risk assessment may need to be done for you.
  5. Risk of Harm – Please see the client privacy and confidentiality statements for mandatory reporting.  Any risk of harm to self or others has to be reported to the authorities.  Any client indicating risk of suicide must conduct a suicide risk analysis before the counsellor proceeds.
  6. Acceptance of therapy – Acceptance of Therapy is by way of completion of the consent form signed; or completed consent form received with verbal or electronic acceptance of consent to engage in services. Either is regarded as contractual engagement of the counselling services.  
  7. Refusal of services – A counsellor may choose not to accept a client for any reason.  Should this take place, the client will be referred to another counsellor or organization and it is up to the counselee/client to contact said organization.  No further follow up will take place by our counsellors.
  8. Contractual Obligations – Where there has been financial arrangements made, please see the payment section.

Disclaimer:

  1. Any advice or information offered or given by our counsellors is not a replacement for a doctor’s consultation, medical evaluation, or medical treatment.
  2. You must not substitute the advice of your doctor or other healthcare provider for any information or recommendations that our counsellor/s give you.
  3. As a result of your reliance on any information or advice the counsellor may give you, Conscious Resolutions and Kerrie Di Venosa (currently Counsellor and Sole Trader), expressly disclaims all duty for any damages, loss, injury, or liability whatever sustained by you or any third person having relied upon said advice.
  4. Counselling is of a general nature and is not a guarantee of any life changes or guarantee against difficulty in life.  
  5. Consult your doctor or other healthcare provider as soon as you can if you have any particular questions or worries about any medical issue.
  6. You should get immediate medical assistance from your healthcare practitioner if you suspect you may have any medical conditions.
  7. You are strongly cautioned against delaying seeking medical assistance, ignoring medical advice, or stopping medical treatment as a result of the information or recommendations we offer you.
  8. No responsibility can be held upon the counsellor if the counselee has given inaccurate, partial or intentionally limited information regarding any details of medical or other important information pertaining to and relevant to the immediate and on-going case of counselling and therapy.. 
  9. The Counsellor and Counselee can terminate the session immediately, or at any time where they are not comfortable in the session and/or feel there is risk to either themselves or property.   
  10. The Counsellor may choose to refer you on to another counsellor or therapeutic organization for any reason.  This is usually in the best interests of the client. The counsellor will not be required to follow up on the referral thereafter. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us, and therefore, should you have any concerns, we would appreciate your feedback.
  2. Counsellors are reliant upon information that is accurate and communication that is clear.  Should a counsellor note that there is information missing or inaccurate, it may limit the counsellor’s capacity to engage in suitable therapy for you.  This may also put you at risk.  Therefore, it is your responsibility to be clear and honest with the information you share to our counsellor/s.
  3. It is the clients/counselee’s responsibility to engage with homework and/or practices recommended.  There are no guarantees of outcome or promises of outcome.  Counselling is of a general nature and results can be subject to practice and/or outside of a counsellors control or requirement to do so.

REGARDING PAYMENT AND APPOINTMENT CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS:

  1. Changes & Cancellations
    You can reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours before your appointment time. For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the appointment fee is charged.
  2. Running Late / No Show Policy
    If you are late, the session will still conclude at the scheduled time. A 20-minute wait will be observed for late arrivals, after which time it is assumed you will not be attending your session and your Zoom /online session will end. The full session price is charged for no-show appointments.

Payment Terms

  1. Payment (or a deposit payment) is generally processed online at the time of your booking. Where full payment was not processed at the time of booking, payment (less any deposit paid) will be processed against your nominated card on the day of your scheduled appointment.
  2. Accounts can be issued in some circumstances and is up to the discretion of the counsellor.  Payment is required within 10 days.
  3. A valid credit or debit card can be stored on file. If you would prefer this option, please discuss this with the counsellor as there are special rules/laws around storage of sensitive data.
  4.  Cash is an acceptable and encouraged form of payment where in person sessions take place.
  5. Contractual Obligations – Where counselling services have been engaged with on a unique arrangement such as 6 sessions paid up-front at a discounted price, an individual contract for such will be issued with its own separate payment terms and conditions. 
  6. Any other form of payment arrangement such as extended time for accounts or a discount for discretionary reasons, is still subject to the above terms and conditions at all times.
  7. Current credit card or debit card processing is SQUARE and is subject to SQUARE READER fees of 2% additional to service charges.
